Job Title: Intern Architect
Job Duties: Prepare architectural and construction documents utilizing computer aided design and other standard architectural industry software programs; Plan layout of architectural project, prepare architectural renderings, and assist in the development of architectural details; Assist in the calculation of an architectural budget for contractual bids; Prepare scale drawings and suggest design revisions as necessary; Conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans; Analyze and perform research on city and municipal building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural design and to ensure compliance with existing code standards; Develop, modify and/or review drawings according to established company standards; Calculate stress factors and weights of structures represented in architectural designs to determine if their construction is viable; Develop and present solutions to technical problems to supervising licensed architect; Perform architectural assignments and work from designs of others, compile data, perform basic design computations, prepare architectural plans, design details, and renderings; Prepare technical reports under an architect's supervision to be utilized in preparing competitive project bids; Under the supervision of a licensed architect, validate builder compliance with design specifications and ensure that subsequent architectural design corrections are consistent with project objectives.
Requirements: Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture.
